Illinois Unemployment Benefits Calculator

Applies the Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) benefit table BEN 548 for benefit years beginning on or after January 1, 2026: weekly benefit amount = 47% of your average weekly wage in your two highest base-period quarters, from $51 to $628 ($748 with a non-working spouse, $859 with a dependent child), for a uniform 26 weeks; in a part-time week, earnings above half of your weekly amount are deducted. Estimates only — IDES determines actual amounts.

How this tool works. To qualify you need at least $1,600 in base-period wages, including at least $440 outside your highest quarter (U.S. DOL, July 2026). Your average weekly wage is the total of your two highest base-period quarters divided by 26; your weekly benefit amount is 47% of it, from $51 to $628, looked up row by row in the IDES table BEN 548 (all 737 rows are built into this tool). The table also gives the allowance for a non-working spouse (total up to $748) or a dependent child (total up to $859). Your maximum benefit amount is the lesser of 26 times your weekly amount or your base-period wages. In a part-time week, earnings above half of your weekly amount are deducted (U.S. DOL, July 2026).

Limitations. This is a calculation, not a determination. It uses Table 1 (benefit years beginning on or after January 1, 2026); claims with a 2025 benefit year use Table 2. The tool does not model an alternate base period, separation issues, the waiting week or work search.
