Current benefit duration tier DES sets the number of weeks twice a year (Jan. 1 and Jul. 1) from the seasonally adjusted statewide unemployment rate (N.C. Gen. Stat. §96-14.3). As of July 2026, DES is paying 12 weeks. Change this only if you know the rate that applies to your claim. Weekly earnings while claiming, if any ($) Optional.
