New Mexico Unemployment Benefits Calculator

Applies the New Mexico formula published by the U.S. Department of Labor (July 2026): weekly benefit amount = 53.5% of your high-quarter average weekly wage (high quarter / 13), rounded down, from $116 to $624 ($674 with dependents); $25 per dependent, up to two, capped at half your weekly amount; total benefits = the lesser of 60% of base-period wages or 26 times your weekly amount; in a part-time week, earnings above 1/5 of your weekly amount are deducted. Estimates only — the New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions determines actual amounts.

How this tool works. Your weekly amount is 53.5% of your high-quarter average weekly wage (high quarter divided by 13), rounded down, from $116 to $624 (reached at $15,163 in one quarter). Each dependent adds $25, up to two, capped at half your weekly amount ($674 maximum with dependents). To qualify you need at least $2,818.70 in your high quarter and wages in at least one other quarter. Total benefits are the lesser of 60% of your base-period wages or 26 times your weekly amount. In a part-time week, wages above 1/5 of your weekly amount are deducted; wages equal to or above your weekly amount mean no benefit (U.S. DOL Significant Provisions, July 2026; DOL Comparison 2022; 11.3.300 NMAC).

Limitations. This is a calculation, not a determination. It does not model separation issues, the waiting week, weekly work search contacts, deductions for pensions or other income, or the alternate base period.
