Tennessee Unemployment Benefits Calculator

Applies the Tennessee formula published by the U.S. Department of Labor (July 2026): weekly benefit amount = 1/26 of the average of your two highest base-period quarters, from $55 to $325; up to 12 weeks while the Tennessee unemployment rate stays low; in a part-time week, earnings above the greater of $50 or 25% of your weekly amount are deducted. Estimates only — the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development determines actual amounts.

How this tool works. Your weekly amount is the average of your two highest base-period quarters divided by 26, rounded down, from $55 to $325 (reached when those quarters average $8,450). To qualify, your two best quarters must average at least $780.01, your base-period wages must be at least 40 times your weekly amount, and your wages outside the high quarter must exceed the lesser of 6 times your weekly amount or $900. Benefits last up to 12 weeks while the state unemployment rate is low. In a part-time week, wages above the greater of $50 or 25% of your weekly amount are deducted (U.S. DOL, Significant Provisions of State UI Laws, July 2026; TDLWD).

Limitations. This is a calculation, not a determination. It does not model separation issues, the waiting week, weekly work search activities, deductions for pensions or other income, or changes to the week limit if the state unemployment rate rises. Rounding down is assumed.
